Dishwasher Installation by Certified Person

Dishwashers installed by professionals in the GTA. When it comes to dishwasher installation, you have two options: do it yourself or have it installed by a professional. If you decide to do it yourself, be aware that there is a lot you may have to learn about plumbing and electrical than you may think you already know and, in the end, it may cost you a lot more than if you had used a professional  for installation initially. There are many factors to consider if you do not want to get “shocked” by the electricity or cause a significant flood in your home.

Dishwasher Installation cost

Dishwasher installation cost varies depending on your dishwasher layout:

(a) dishwasher next to the sink

(b) dishwasher layout around the corner from the sink

Dishwashers can be located away from the sink but, generally they need to be within a few feet so that the plumbing from the sink can be used as the water supply and drain for the dishwasher as well. This is usually why a dishwasher is positioned next to the sink, it makes the plumbing easier and is less costly.

A dishwasher installation requires an understanding of the water-pipes/plumbing systems,  drainage systems and, as well the electrical systems. An improperly installed dishwasher could not just damage the dishwasher itself but also, lead to flooding,  cause electrical outages and  potentially lead to a dangerous situation.

Our certified experts will use the right tools for the job and make sure every part of the installation is done correctly the first time, saving you time and money in the long run.

By the time you factor in all the costs of repair and how old the dishwasher is, it may be time to simply have the dishwasher replaced.

For an accurate estimate of the costs, we recommend that you request a job estimate Over the phone. That way you’ll know how much the job will cost and time frame before we start working.

Common Mistakes When Installing a Dishwasher

Poor Alignment

dishwasher installations is the poor alignment of the various components of the dishwasher. For example, the door of the dishwasher may rub against a cabinet. Alternatively, the door of the dishwasher may graze against the counter top each time the dishwasher is opened. These alignment problems can easily be rectified by adjusting the kick plate or the mounting screws of the dishwasher.

Improper Drain Installation

An improperly installed drain hose is by far the most common defect found in dishwasher installations. The drain hose coming from the dishwasher must tap into your sink drain line above the P-trap (also called a J-bend). If this is not done properly, sewer gas can enter your home through your dishwasher.

No high loop

the dishwasher drain makes a high loop underneath the kitchen sink.  This is the minimum requirement for every dishwasher drain installation. In fact, plumbing code says “as high as possible under the counter top.

Mounting Challenges

mounting screws cannot penetrate a natural stone counter top. This challenge can be solved in two major ways. First, you can use an adhesive to stick pieces of lumber onto the natural stone. The screws can then be driven into the lumber so that the dishwasher is properly mounted. Secondly, you can use side brackets instead of mounting screws. It’s very important to make sure the clamps securing the dishwasher’s drain line, to the drain line, going to the sink’s drainpipe, are properly installed. If not, you’re sure to have a major leak.
